Reasons to Be Excited About 2016
Are You Unhappy ?
The new year is here, and so, too, is the renewed sense that anything is possible — even the advent of sweater weather. Here, some sartorial ways to kick things off on a high note.
Already shoulder-baring tops are shaping up as a go-to look of spring 2016. Sexy but not too much so, they were a trend in the resort collections and soon taken up by the likes of Solange Knowles and Zendaya. On the spring runways, there were bare shoulders at Céline, at Proenza Schouler, at Chloé. Other designers seemingly besotted with the shape include Rosie Assoulin, whose ballooning sleeves are a favorite of fashion insiders; and Johanna Ortiz, an up-and-comer from Colombia whose romantic puff-sleeve ruffles walk the line between a boho peasant look and a modern new one. It’s a look that begs for an exotic vacation.
